The Metropolitan Police have told Boris Johnson that we won’t be receiving any more fines for allegedly breaking the coronavirus lockdown rules in 2020 and I couldn’t be more relieved.
Met officers confirmed that their probe into the so-called Partygate scandal had all but concluded. The probe ends with 126 fines to 83 people for breaking strict lockdown rules, with 28 people receiving multiple fines.

Sue Gray Report
The investigation, spearheaded by Sue Gray, has examined over 500 photos along with hours of CCTV footage, dozens of emails, a laundry list of texts, and a hearty dollop of witness statements as it attempts to develop clarity over the actions of our politicians during the coronavirus lockdowns.
Boris Johnson is expected to appear in Parliament next week and give a statement once the Gray report is complete. A Downing Street spokesperson stated: ’The Met has confirmed that they are taking no further action with regards to the Prime Minister.’’
Thank God. Whilst I don’t condone the Prime Minister’s behavior, I think it’s vital that this investigation is brought to an end so Britain can get back to business. Yes, Boris Johnson made a mistake, but we must remember that none of us are perfect and we all have proverbial skeletons in our closets.
Running the greatest nation on Earth is no easy task, so I find it perfectly understandable that he may have been tempted to attend the occasional party and have a drink. Truth be told, I would have done the same if I were the PM (a dream I haven’t given up on yet).
Calling For Boris’ Head Is Pathetic
Calling for Johnson’s resignation is pathetic and nothing more than an overly-emotional knee jerk reaction. Why, during this tough and testing time, are people so adamant that this wonderful nation oust its leader in front of the whole world?
The last thing we can do is send a message to the rest of Europe that we’re weak, flaky, and devoid of leadership. The continent would have a field day with their brainless jokes and horrendous attempt at making fun of us. We can’t, and hopefully won’t, let this happen.
Boris has done a superb job on Downing Street and has guided the UK through its toughest period since the Second World War. His leadership was a constant presence during Brexit, coronavirus, the cost-of-living crisis, and the current situation in Eastern Europe. I couldn’t have wished for a brighter guiding light during this time and can only assume multiple statues will be built after his time as Prime Minister has concluded.
I consider Boris to be in the upper-echelon of British Prime Ministers. That may sound like a bold statement, but I could not be more proud of him. He’s a credit to this wonderful country and, unlike the hypocrite Starmer, actually owns up to his mistakes and gaffes.
Time To Move Forward
The conclusion of the Sue Gray report is deeply cathartic. The United Kingdom can now get back to what it does best - inspiring the world and leading the way in industry, happiness, and liberty. We can close this grim chapter in our history and get our Union Jacks ready in anticipation of the upcoming Platinum Jubilee. Whilst the Partygate investigation was a great advert for British democracy, it’s time we left it in the past and got back to business.
The blemishes on Boris Johnson’s record have been wiped clean in my book. He’s a perfectly imperfect leader who is quickly becoming an iconic figure in British history. His undying love for this country means far more to me than what he may or may not get up to in the limited amount of spare time he has.
