Age of the Gods Norse: Book of Dwarves is one of the latest instalments in Playtech’s mythology-inspired progressive series Age of the Gods. This time around the software studio has drawn inspiration from Scandinavian folklore. The new release utilises a 5×5 reel grid with 50 paylines. The game is part of the developer’s Age of the Gods progressive network.

Colourful symbols appearing on the reels consist of white and brown-bearded dwarves, a red-haired woman, an ancient book mentioned in this slot’s name, and many different runes, while the wild symbol appears as the golden letter W, sharing the same font with the game’s title.

As for the play symbols, they are inspired by Norse mythology. The low-value symbols are represented by runes, while dwarves are the better payers.

One of the easier features from Book of Dwarves, the W logo is the substitute, a symbol that you will be able to include in combinations that form on the same lines as it is present.

As you might’ve guessed, it’s a Book-style slot machine, but not a typical one. Its scatters are separate from its wilds, for one, but the end goal is the same, to reach the free spins.

To do that, you first need a minimum of three scatters visible, the ones showing the image of the Book. Once the feature starts, you get a randomly chosen special symbol, which will gain the ability to expand. It’s not a reel expansion though, it will turn into a 3x3 mega symbol instead, while reels are 5 symbols high.

As you play through the 10 initial spins, you collect Book symbols, and you fill a metre so that you can advance to the next level. Getting 3+ extra Book scatters retriggers the feature, with the number of spins from the level where you are.
